The second instalment to the travelling project started with Soft ground in Gasworks London, Soft breath continues to evoke the fluid interplay between night and day, public and private life, and hidden and visible desires. While Soft ground took the infamous Hampstead Heath "fuck tree" as a point of departure to explore the complex social dynamics and interspecies relationships in London’s gay cruising areas, this iteration recasts the project by turning the focus on Hong Kong's well-known Lam Tsuen Wishing Tree. Drawing on the convergence of histories and places where personal and collective desires meet, Yeung creates a stage to explore humanity’s entanglements with the natural environment.
